GO HIKE WITH FRIENDS 01/24/2021

Updated: Jan 26, 2021

Join us on Sunday, January 24th at 12:30 pm, we will meet to hike a loop in the Thompson Preserve in North Sandwich. This is about a 1.5 mile flat loop through very pleasant woods and by a wetland with a view of the Sandwich Range. Easy. Bring foot traction. To get there from Tamworth, take Route 25 almost 7 miles to the Bearcamp Pond Road on the right. Take that .7 miles to Middle Road on left (with the road sign for Middle Road on the right side of Bearcamp Pond Road in a tree). Go 1.2 miles to a sign for the Thompson Preserve on left. Take a right there and go .1 miles to parking on right. If you can safely car pool, do so.

POST HIKE:

On Sunday, January 24th, 10 of us went to the Thompson Preserve, an Audubon wildlife sanctuary in North Sandwich. We did a 1.5 mile loop trail through a beautiful hemlock forest and stopped halfway at the marsh, with a view of the Sandwich Range and Ossipee Mountains. Everyone had a great time on a chilly day.
