OUR MISSION
The Tamworth Community Nurse Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of all residents of Tamworth, NH, for the purpose of encouraging and maintaining a healthy vibrant community. To attain this objective, the organization offers individuals of all ages free-of-charge skilled nursing care, educational programs, and assistance in coordinating access to other available services and resources.
Medical Care for Tamworth Residents Free of Charge
Visit us in the rear of the Town Offices at 84 Main Street in the Village.
The Nurse sees walk-in patients in the office Mondays through Friday from 9 am to 11 am.
The Nurse sees patients in their homes after 11 am. To arrange for a home visit, phone 603-323-8511.

Flu Vaccines
Drop in for your flu vaccine anytime during office hours. It's $15 to cover the cost of the serum.
If you don't have the money, we'll still give you the shot.
Tick or Other Insect Bites
Get bites properly cleaned and dressed. And for those hard-to-reach places, leave it to the pros; we've got you covered.
Remove Stitches/Sutures/Staples
Have your care provider fax an order to us and the Tamworth Nurse will take out your stitches -- no appointment necessary, no copay, no trip, we're right here in town.
Strep Test
Strep? Or just a sore throat? It helps to know before you haul yourself and/or your kids to the clinic.
Counseling
Sometimes it's good to get an outside perspective; we're glad to lend an ear and give you our best advice on any difficult situations you may be facing, by yourself or with your family.
Lab Work & PT/INR Tests
Stay on top of your medications. We provide routine lab tests with your provider's order.
Loaner Medical Equipment
Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes, commodes -- give us a call and if we have it we'll be glad to loan it out to you, for the weekend or indefinitely.
Pre- & Post-Natal Care
In concert with you and your baby's care provider, the Tamworth Nurse can provide skilled nursing care in our offices here in town, or in your home.
Case Management
Health systems are complex. Hospitals, rehab centers, visiting nurses, hospice. There are a lot of moving parts. We can help you navigate the system and arm you with the right questions to ask.
Therapeutic Injections
With orders from your provider we can give you your allergy shots, B12 and other routine therapeutic injenctions
Scrapes, Cuts & Burns
Dressing changes can be tricky, and are important for speedy healing. Let the Tamworth Nurses do it for you.
COVID Testing
We can do a quick antigen test here in the office, or send you home with a do-it-yourself kit.
Medication Management
Keeping prescriptions in order is difficult under the best of circumstances. Take the worry out and let the Tamworth Nurse organize your medications, or the medications of a family member.
Ear, Nose & Throat
Have the Tamworth Nurse take a look-see; we'll give you our best advice on whether a visit with your primary care provider is a good idea.
Supplies
We have disposable adult underwear, diapers, wipes, gait belts, gloves, masks, hand sanitizer, nutrition drinks, disposable tubing -- all free for Tamworth residents. If you need something not on this list, give us a call, we probably have it, or know where to get it.
Meals on Wheels
For older residents and folks who have difficulty shopping or preparing meals, contact us to receive hot, healthy meals delivered to your home every weekday.
Blood Pressure & Other Vital Sign Checks
Stay on top of your health and drop in for a check on your vital signs. Home blood pressure cuffs and similar home-use equipment is fine, but sometimes it's worth it to get the work done by a pro.
