Most recent New Hampshire statistics show one in 3 adults over 65 will experience a fall. The Cook Memorial Library and the Tamworth Community Nurse Association will cohost a talk about fall prevention on Wednesday, April 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the library. 

At this program, physical therapist Joann Vasconcellos will discuss major fall risks, both environmental and physiological. She will share tools that physical therapists use to assess fall risk in order to help you understand your own vulnerability. Finally, she will provide information on steps you can take to prevent future falls. These include making environmental changes and doing strength/balance exercises to minimize your fall risk. 

In addition, local residents who offer movement and therapeutic classes will share activities they provide in town that will help with your strength and balance.
